Remap Stuck or Hot pixels on Olympus 2100 UZ
Over time most digital cameras get stuck or hot pixels - Many times you cant see them
Many newer cameras have software on the camera that lets you "remap" the bad pixels to remove them from the shots.
Before

The results are AMAZING - The program I used is here

Here is the cable I used - I just used cables I had around the house

Details of Cable Pinout is here

More geeky camera serial cable info here http://www.lightner.net/lightner/bruce/ppccable.html
I tried using the USB connection feature of the version CCD defects reader, v0.15 but I never got it to work with the 2100 UZ
The serial connection required a NUMBER of attempts before I got it to communicate and remap without data errors - I attribute most oif them to the HACK job I did of making the cable - You can but NEW cables with ferrite cores on eBay for about $15 including shipping. Just search for Olympus Serial cable.
You can send your Camera to Olympus and for ~$190 they will repair ANYTHING that is wrong with it . But if the only problem you have is stuck or hot pixels then a $15 dollar solution sounds better - Especially because as the camera ages MORE pixels will fail. Fix them yourself for less than the cost of shipping the camera to Olympus ...
These processes are done at your own RISK - No Olympus 2100's are likely under warranty anymore BUT this will void your warranty
Here are some CRAPPY underexposed ( no flash ) pictures I took recently that show the 2 stuck pixels in every shot
